Evaluation- How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation- what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Evaluation What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The technologies used duirng this product are listed below, the reasons for the choices in technologies will be uploaded in an audio file next.

Apple Mac; this is what we used for uploading and editing our project, the software we used for this was called final cut Express; is the technology I found most difficult, but after using this on our preliminary task I found it easier, this software allowed us to add effects on to our project such as layered sound and fast paced cuts, so with the use of final cut we were able to stick to the convection of the genre.

During the filming process we used a Fujifilm camera set to video, and although the quality of the footage wasn’t as advanced as the cameras we had available at school, this camera we found allowed us to capture the scene in the correct lighting and with the use of quality we can use silhouette  figures with is also a convection. For the Scenes that we felt needed extra lighting we used an iPhone set on video with flash this was just the right amount of brightness we needed for scenes such as the close up of the daughters face, because it allowed us to emphasize her bruises.

Evaluation- looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Evaluation- who would be the audience for your media product?

Film Certification
My film is going to be a certificate 15 because the target audience is males aged 16. To attract this audience type we needed to include violence and strong langauage.

Research into Simialr products
During planning i researched two particular films, these were Taken and Se7en. The reason for this choice was the story line of taken is similar to mine, the protective dad figure doing anything to protect his daugther from harm, and se7en has the same sub-genre we wanted to use.

The Certification for these films were Taken - 15
                                                              Se7en - 18

Feeback dring rough edit
We showed our product to a group with the age range of 16-18 years and non of the viewers complained or commented on the context used, therefore be belived weve choosen the right aduience and Certification because most of the viewers were male aged 17.

Interviewswe also interviewed a parent, we explained the narative and asked 'would you allow your child aged 15 view this film?' They agreed that we had appointed the right certification to our film.

My target audience is therefore men ages 15+ who's genre of choice is Thriller. They like violence and dont find swearing or abuse affensive.

Evaluation- how does your media product represent particular social groups?

During this question I am comparing my product to the existing product 'Taken'

Evaluation- in what ways does you media product use, develop and challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Progress...

We have now finished editing our final product, and despite the difficulties we faced during this time we managed to keep to the deadlines set.

The day before our deadline's issues: After finishing editing, we saw the issue that our opening sequence was 47 seconds to short, therefore we had to make the decision of how to change this, we all agreed on adding more footage, this is why we added a monologue of the daughters to the opening, this not only added seconds to our time frame, it made it more effective because although more is given away in our opening than in most, that the audience is left asking question doing 2 things, keeping to the criteria given and making it more effective and appropriate opening sequence.
